THE WATER BEARER Ruled by Uranus & Saturn Masculine, Positive, Fixed Air Sgn
|
The symbol of Aquarius is the Waterbearer--water
streams from the Waterbearer's jug, depicting a higher conscious
knowledge that is to be shared with humanity. There is a misperception
by some people who consider Aquarius to be a water sign, but its true
element is air. The higher ego focus is to help humanity--in contrast
to the opposite sign Leo whose ego focus is the individual. This
sign's intention is to promote change in science, politics, and
literature and to establish friendships between communities and
countries (We-are-the-world).
Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet of change and new experiences.
Many new experiences are those of friendships, which are very
important to you. The person you choose as a friend can be sure of
your kinship and loyalty. As a fixed, active air sign, you can be
eccentric, decisive, and strong-willed. Unless contradicted elsewhere
in your chart, you are not very emotional and generally prefer to have
friends rather than lovers. You have good friendships with members of
both sexes and will maintain the relationships even if you have found
a partner. Sometimes you feel that others lack the necessary
understanding of your ideas and this frustrates you. As a result, you
may start an argument to demand a response from others. You can be
obsessive about finding the truth. Sometimes you even go so far as to
banish people from your life merely because they do not reach your own
perceptive level.
You are neither pretentious nor condescending, and you have a dislike
for cheap imitations and hypercritical behaviour. As you draw your
security from being with others, you are fairly dependent on a
specific type of surrounding. You will probably never experience
loneliness; Uranus makes sure that you enjoy meeting new people and
exchanging ideas. Your herd instincts will constantly lead you to
other people, if they do not come to you of their own accord. You love
the beauty of nature but want to admire it from a comfortable and safe
position. You feel a desire for material wealth without being too
forceful in that direction. You prefer to be a spectator at sporting
events, rather than taking part yourself. Your interests tend to be
intellectual rather than physical.
Your calm exterior may be deceptive. Sometimes your worries might make
you feel ill and miserable. You take your work very seriously and are
thus often nervous and worried. It is best for you to work with others
or in an organisation that works for a public cause. Such employment
gives you the opportunity to use your excellent memory, intuition, and
knowledge. It also enables you to express your humanitarian nature.
Aquarius is often associated with a love of freedom, which may be
expressed in some way by assisting those disadvantaged in society.
People trust and admire you for your interest and concern when dealing
with others' problems. Your sympathy is impersonal and your
understanding rational, but once your interest has been seized, you
prove to be an inexhaustible worker.
Although this sign is often connected with the intellect, the type of
reasoning you exhibit will depend on the placements of Uranus and
Mercury in your chart, together with how they are aspected. Your quest
is to project warmth and integrate feelings into the world, i.e.,
engender shared feelings as part of a larger collective.
